Campus Recruitment

Process:
  1. Written Test
  2. Group Discussion (GD)
  3. Personal Interview (HR/Technical)

1. Written Test:
  • Written test may consist of different sections like aptitude section, quantitative section, analytical section, logical reasoning and technical section.
  • The aim of this test is to validate candidate’s overall knowledge about each section (technical and non-technical).  therefore we can call it as a Screening test
  • Once you get the question paper in your hand, quickly go through all the sections and get some rough idea about each section.  So that you can target to a well-known section.
  • Most of the candidates are doing well in quantitative section but they are failed to score in analytical & logical reasoning sections.
How to crack in written test:
  • The main factor to be considered during the written test is Time.
  • Sometimes it may look like we know all the questions in one particular section but if we start doing all questions in that section then we may miss out the other sections.
  • Do attempt all the sections and try to complete maximum number of questions in each section.
  • For quantitative section, try to recollect the basics (refer your own higher secondary books) and prepare notes on short-cuts for the problems.
  • For analytical and logical reasoning sections, try to solve more problems from old GRE (Graduate Record Exam) or TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) model question papers (you can get this in internet)

2. Group Discussion:
  • After clearing written test, the next round is Group Discussion (GD).  Depends on the number of candidates it will be divided into normal groups which may consist of 5 to 10 or more.  Each candidate have to speak about the given topic.  Once the topic is decided, preparation time will be provided (30 secs to 2 mins). Candidates can prepare their own notes and can start once the observer announces.
  • Starting & Ending is very much important in GD
  • Starting - how to start? This is the basic question arises to every candidates who attends GD. Method is simple, just start with wishes and introduce yourself to the group
  • Read the given topic clearly and start speaking
  • While speaking try to look at everyone, don't look at upside and do observe the others
  • If others finish their turns, you can start with by saying the last speaker's word
  • The main important thing in GD is observation.  Try to observe what the others says
  • At the end, summarize all the important points which are discussed and try to make it in a crisp way
  • Try to develop a reading habit and try to arrange a debate/discussion in classes

3. Personal Interview:

Personal interview is nothing but conversing to gather information through face to face contact with the individual. Personal interview may be,

1) Technical interview
2) HR interview

Technical interview:

The aim of technical interview is to evaluate your confidence in your field of interest, problem solving approach and commonsense. Be confident on the field of interest and gather some information like practical application and technical updates related to that field apart from what you read in the book.

Always positively attempt to answer interviewer’s questions with the knowledge you have in that field. Be clear, precise and accurate when you discuss definitions, numbers, formulas, concepts etc. keep talking about work that you have done and take lead during conversing. Do not allow the interviewer to deviate from the topic that you are familiar with. If you are not convinced with the interviewer’s statement, convey your disagreement politely.

Always listen to interviewer’s opinion during any technical discussion. Be relaxed and keep your mind free, so that you will be able to convey your opinion clearly.

HR interview:

The objective of HR interview is to determine your attitude, team work capability, communication skill. Self introduction will be the most common question, so be prepared for introducing yourself more interestingly.

Convey the best part of you in terms of attitude and interest. Collect more information about your interest like for example if your interest is in reading novels, then know more about your favorite author, types of novels that you like to read etc.

Listen to your interviewer’s opinion and accept their comments and suggestions patiently. Concentrate on your dressing and basic manners like wishing when you enter the room, wait for the interviewer to please you to sit etc,

Basic tips to prepare for personal interview:

1)     Have mock interview with your friends or with people who have attended plenty of interviews.
2)     Prepare self introduction and speak before the mirror to eliminate interview fear.
3)     Read daily newspaper and keep you updated with current affairs.
4)     Body language or gestures or non-verbal communication play vital in personal interview, so improve your body language.
5)     Prepare proper formal dress for the interview which is also being noticed during interview.
