Top 50 Engineering colleges in India (2009 Rankings)

  • Only those institutes which submitted complete objective data on time were ranked. Some like IIT, Delhi, which did not submit complete data were not considered.
  • NITs at Trichy, Calicut, Warangal and Rourkela; Faculty of Engg, Jadavpur University; Bengal Engg & Science University, Shibpur; VNIT Nagpur; Harcourt Butler, Kanpur; VIT, Vellore; and MANIT Bhopal did not participate.
  • IIIT, Gwalior, offers five-year integrated course instead of BTech/BE.

Online Entrance test (BITSAT)
Test format:
  • BITSAT-2011 will be of total 3-hour duration (without break). The test consists of four parts
Part I: Physics - 40 questions
Part II: Chemistry – 40 questions
Part III: (a) English Proficiency & (b) Logical Reasoning – 15 & 20 questions
Part IV: Mathematics – 45 questions
  • All questions are of objective type (multiple choice questions)
  • Deadline to apply for BITSAT-2011: 31st January 2011

  • Test center allotment and announcement to candidates: 15th February 2011
  • Candidates to reserve Test dates: 18th Feb. – 10th March 2011
  • Candidates to download the Hall tickets with instructions: 15th April – 30th April 2011
  • BITSAT Online tests: 11th May – 10th June 2011
  • Candidates to apply for admission with 12th marks and Preferences to Degree programmes: 20th May – 30th June 2011
  • Admit List and Wait List announcement: 1st July 2011
